Description:
10¾x8½, wood engraving from a drawing by Harry Furruss, later hand-colored, taped inside paper matting (16x12¾) with cloth tape at each corner on verso. From Punch Magazine, or The London Charivari. October 22, 1892.
Classic golfing cartoon drawing of a man golfer dreaming of various golfing scenes with a woman golfer in the middle and at the foreground teeing off on a golf ball which appears to have a face on it. Other scenes include the doldrums of being in the bunker with a high wall, caddie with no head, a ball lost in the brush, an impossible shot made at top of engraving, etc. From the collection of Charles Yaws, former Director and was the first Administrator of the U.S. Golf Collector's Society.
Condition:
Except for cloth tape at corners on verso and minor extraction wear to one side, in fine condition with clean and bright cover.
