The present copy is in the publisher's striking full leather gift binding pictorially stamped in gilt depicting Indians peering at a small group of settlers standing by their canoe. |

| Spine ends and corners worn, some rubbing to the covers, front cover of Vol. II detached, spine lifted, 1" at spine head lacking; light, mostly marginal foxing within, ink names to front endpapers, else internally very good, worthy of restoration to the bindings. |
