| Splendid series of fine engravings of the Canadian wilds, as well as her few cities and settlements, from drawings by the pre-eminent 19th century British travel illustrator, or "topographical draughtsman." The present copy is in the publisher's striking full leather gift binding pictorially stamped in gilt depicting Indians peering at a small group of settlers standing by their canoe. |

| Spine ends and corners worn, some rubbing to the covers, front cover of Vol. II detached, spine lifted, 1" at spine head lacking; light, mostly marginal foxing within, ink names to front endpapers, else internally very good, worthy of restoration to the bindings. |
