Description:
25¼x16½, a series of thirteen original watercolor plates with Japanese patterns and designs, each accompanied by his orange Japanese chop and numbered in black from 1 to 13 within the chop.
Each signed by Bentley in ink and dated 1943. Includes title-page 16½"x24" with thirteen poems done in a style similar to Haiku, handwritten in English and with an original watercolor and the poet's signature chop. Wilder Bentley, the noted California poet-painter-calligrapher and composer from Berkeley, was the proprietor and founder of the Archetype Press.
Condition:
Some darkening to edges and margins, slight tears and wear to edges, a few light rubs to title-page; still in near fine condition, overall.
