624 pp. Illustrated with wood engravings; double-page color lithographed map (showing the limits of the various Indian tribes in the U.S.) as frontispiece. 9x6, original gilt-pictorial brown cloth.
Raines notes that the work has "a narrative of the Snively Expedition, professedly by one of Warfield's men." This edition with T.N. James & Co., of Houston, Texas, added to the imprint as a secondary publisher. First published in Detroit in 1877, with the Cincinatti edition first appearing in 1878. Flake 360; Raines p.23.
Condition:
A little rubbing and fraying to the spine ends, front hinge cracking, else near fine, bright and attractive.
