| Original manuscript transcriptions of Taped Poems Across USA June 1966. Holograph manuscript in a student composition book (4to), hand-written throughout by Ginsberg. The poem was taped July 20-22 while riding on a Santa Fe train and transcribed by Ginsberg on September 18, 1966. Consists of 89 numbered pages and differs from the published version (about a quarter of the transcribed version does not appear in the published book). There are also many lines re-written and reworked. Interesting insight into the author’s creative process. Includes pictorial postcard (blank on verso) with image of the published pictorial book cover over the opened manuscript, laid in. |
