Description:
One copy, 9x6, plain tan-brown saddle-sewn wrappers, paper cover label. No. 99 of 176 copies printed by the Ascensius Press, signed by Dufresne in the colophon. * And, the rare Suppressed Trial Issue by Ed Blair's Perdido Press: 11x7˝, pictorial saddle-sewn gray-tan wrappers, printed on Rives Lightweight White with photosilkscreen process. Colophon states limited to 176 copies printed by Perdido Press (New Orleans); but, actually only 11 copies of this Perdido issue were printed. Signed by Dufresne on the title. Together, 2 volumes. Illustrations. First Editions.
Accompanied with a typed letter signed by Ed Blair, dated January 25, 1995 to John LeBow (publisher of the Ascensius Press). Apparently, John LeBow decided he wanted to change the style and format from the Perdido Press version. Blair writes: “Ascensius did a nice job. It sure is different from one we came up with. Yours is New England all the way-ours looks like a combination of New Orleans and Miami.”
