Description:
Six typed letters signed, 30 pp.
In this series of letters from Browder to Heller, a major financial supporter of the CPUSA, Browder sets forth his views on the Popular Front, revisionism, Stalinism and other subjects which were at issue in the post-war dispute between Browder and Foster. Browder and Heller were expelled from the Party in 1946. From the tone of Browder's letters, Heller appears to have begun to question the wisdom of his and Browder's views. Browder's answers are detailed and thoughtful, evidencing a continuing commitment to the validity and orthodoxy of his views on the proper role for the CPUSA.
