Description:
88 manuscript pages with numerous hand-drawn maps. 7¾x5, bound in salmon skin.
Navigational log of travel up the Yukon River from St. Michael, AK to perhaps the confluence of the Tanana. The final entry is a small ink drawing of White Bluffs, Dashalenti Island. The majority of the entries appear to have been written in 1887, penciled notations and corrections throughout circa 1899. Each pair of pages is illustrated with a map of a section of the river with the best route of travel lined in ink.
Condition:
Light wear to binding; some light staining to a few pages, final leaf loose; very good.
