Ron Muszalski – Golf Collector

Ron Muszalski was long known to collectors as an expert in collection and restoration. He devoted 25 years, the last third of his life, to amassing his personal collection of golf books and ephemera (and playing golf, which he did near daily). The exceptional breadth of the collection reflects Ron’s genuine passion for golf and golf history. His restorations are painstaking and precise—a labor of love that will long outlive him. His son, Aaron, is pleased to give collectors this opportunity to appreciate and further his father’s work.

Ron learned to love golf as a teenager in Chicago, caddying at Medinah Country Club. He moved to San Francisco in the 1960s, where he worked at City Lights books, married and started a family. He moved to the Monterey Peninsula in the 1990s, becoming the manager of Cambridge Golf Antiquities in Pebble Beach, CA. It was during these years that he built his collection and honed his skill in book restoration and hand-crafted leather bindings.

Ron passed peacefully at age 81 on March 20, 2017, in Monterey, CA.
