4 volumes. (folio) portfolios containing loose broadsides by various writers and artists. Profusely illustrated in color and monochrome throughout. Each issue loose in original publisher's portfolio (differing sizes and color paper portfolios for each issue) with printed title. First Editions. Includes:

• Portfolio I. Spiral bound with cloth ties. Includes cover leaf, foreleaf, and 26 broadsides with the work of Henry Miller, Henry Moore, Gwendolyn Brooks, Kay Boyle Karl Shapiro and many others. Summer 1945.
• Portfolio II. Fair amount of wear to outer portfolio with some staining, wear to edges with some tears, spine split..Cover leaf and 22 leaves of text and illustration. With texts by Paul Eluard, Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre, René Char, Francis Ponge, and others. Illustrations by Dora Maar, Cartier-Bresson, Picasso, Giacometti, and others. Christmas, 1945.
• Portfolio III.  Fair amount of wear to outer portfolio, wear to edges with some tears, spine split.. Cover leaf, fore leaf and 29 leaves of text and illustration. With texts by Kay Boyle, Harry Crosby, Jean-Paul Sartre, Henry Miller, Charles Bukowski, Stephen Spender, Garcia Lorca, David Daiches, and others. Illustrations by Hans Richter, Wilfredo Lam, Tal-Coat, Dorothea Tanning, and others. 1946.
• Volume 5. Portfolio V. Fair amount of wear to outer portfolio with some staining, affecting some of the inside leaves. Cover leaf, fore leaf, 19 leaves of text and 11 plates. With texts by Tolstoy, Selden Rodman, Anais Nin, Harry Thornton Moore, and others. Illustrations by Modigliani, Ernst, Man Ray and others. Spring 1947.

The scarce third portfolio includes Bukowski’s first published appearance, “20 Tanks from Kasseldown”. Broadside printed on both sides. Bukowski’s rare and first separately published work. His first book was not published until 1960, nearly fifteen years later. Also included are some duplicate leaves from portfolio I.
