Gabor's paper appears on pp. 454-487 of the volume, being the first thorough theoretical description of holography.  Dennis Gabor, in his Nobel Lecture, references this and his 1948 two page paper in Nature as the initial reports  on "microscopy by reconstructed wave-fronts", as holography was then called. A rather extensive presentation of the theoretical underpinnings of the method, rather than a brief description of the technique distinguishes this 33 page paper from the note in Nature. Gabor was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for "His invention and development of the holographic principle".
