Flannery O'Connor completed work on her B.A. at Georgia State College for Women in three years, and this college annual for her middle year documents the range of her involvement in college life. 

Her name and photographs appear throughout, as a member of the sophomore class, the Town Girls' Club, the International Relations Club, The Corinthian (creative writing journal), the Colonnade (student newspaper on which O'Connor was Art Editor), and the Spectrum for which O'Connor 'of cartoon fame, was the bright spot of our existence.' Eight of O'Connor's lino-cut cartoons form section heads throughout the annual. This copy belonged to Bettie Sue "Cooter" Sumford, also a sophomore at the time. The volume bears many inscriptions from classmates to her throughout, though apparently nothing from O'Connor.
