Meet the Expert: Maurice “Mo” Johnson

Mo is a Bay Area local, born in the Philippines but raised in Fairfield CA. Photography has been a part of his life since his senior year in high school, he then attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco studying Illustrative and Commercial Photography. Although Mo could take photos of books all day long, his passion is in editorial portraiture, where he enjoys working with people to capture their true personality in a photograph.

Mo is a creative at heart, he first expressed his creative side with drawing, writing and singing in school choirs. He discovered his love of dance around the same time he picked up his first camera, at the age of 17. Mo danced and choreographed with the Solano College Dance Production for 8 years which eventually lead him to musical theater. He performed in, The Producers, Legally Blonde, The Wizard of OZ, Into the Woods and The Rocky Horror Show…just to name a few.
