[4], 651, [1] pp. Woodcut device on title-page. (12mo) 5¾x3¼, modern red calf, spine gilt. Second Edition.

L'Abbe de Choisy formed part of an official embassy from Louis XIV to the Siamese court that hoped, in vain, to convert the Siamese king to Christianity. Two other members of the expedition, Alexandre de Chaumont and Gui Tachard, also wrote accounts of the journey. This second edition published the same year, and by the same publisher, as the quarto first edition.

Condition:

Some soiling and marginal dampstaining to contents, D11 (pp.93-4) with lower corner replaced affecting 3 lines of text, else very good.
