xiv, 570 pp. Illustrated by Ernest H. Shepard. (8vo) 7½x5, finely bound by Rivier in full brown morocco, elaborate gilt borders, figure of a yawning Pepys holding a lit candle in multiple color morocco inlay on front, spine gilt, raised bands, gilt dentelles, all edges gilt.

A handsome example of the inlaid bindings of Riviere & Son.

Condition:

Some wear to joints, small nick to top of one spine band, small dent to fore edge of covers; very good.
