Included is an original silver print photograph of Alexis Godey with a typed caption beneath, altogether 6x4¼. Born in Missouri, Godey was a fur trapper, hunting in John C. Frémont's 2d, 3d, and 4th expeditions. In 1843 Godey and Christopher "Kit" Carson signed up for Frémont's second western expedition.
