Description:

Collection of 8 leaves from various English works. Illustrated with woodcuts, large and small initials. Various sizes. [with:] Legal document. 9x5¼.

Interesting collection including a leaf from an unidentified work by Wynkyn de Worde, two leaves from the earliest English herbal with woodcuts of garlic and thistle, a leaf from another herbal (The Historie of Plantes) with two woodcuts, and a leaf with a woodcut showing a vicious battle between Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony. The legal document, in Latin (translation included) and dating from 1400, concerns an Oxford land transfer.

Condition:

Some light foxing, one leaf moderately soiled with marginal notes, two others with waterstained margins; document with torn margins, not affecting text; overall good.
