Description:

[2], 231 pp. 5¾x4¼, publisher’s brown cloth stamped in black, spine lettered in gilt, housed in a custom orange cloth chemise (with Paul Bonner’s bookplate) and ¼ orange morocco and cloth slipcase with gilt-lettered spine & raised bands. First Edition.

Signed with the first stanza of Coyote inked by Bret Harte, dated London, March 1893. Engraved armorial bookplate of Paul Hyde Bonner. BAL 7350; Baird-Greenwood 1128; Kozlay 260.

Condition:

Spine a bit darkened, top corners lightly bumped; front hinge tender and dampstained; else very good or better overall, inside a handsomely produced chemise and slipcase. Rarely seen with Harte’s signature.
