Two volumes: one inscribed & signed; other is a review copy with: review slip, publisher's newsletter and a typed letter signed by Elliott Graham (of E.P. Dutton) dated April 7, 1977 on Dutton letterhead, regarding this book, all laid in. Abbey's first major non-fiction work since Desert Solitaire, discusses the ever-changing American West, including attitudes on ranchers, dam-builders, mountain lions, etc.

Condition:

Slight edge wear overall, one leaning just a bit; about fine in fine jackets.
