With: East Coker (1940); Burnt Norton (1941); The Dry Salvages (1941); and Little Gidding (1942). 8¾x5¾, original printed wrappers (various colors), housed together in a custom blue cloth chemise and a quarter dark blue morocco & marbled slipcase with gilt-lettered spine. True First Editions, first printings. True first separate issues for Eliot's Four Quartets, in four parts, which were published later in 1943 as a single volume. Each issued in a small number of copies, the first, East Coker, being especially scarce. All but Little Gidding with the original Marshall Field & Co. price sticker on the rear cover. Gallup A36c, A37, A39 & A42.

Lot Amendments

Condition:
Faint darkening or slight fading to margins, occasional tiny chips or bumps to edges; small wrinkles and scratches to top rear cover of Little Gidding, which also has the owner's name and note on inside front cover and owner's crossed-out signature on front free endpaper; light wear to slipcase; mostly near fine or better. Seldom seen in better condition.
