Illustrated with plates from paintings, etchings, drawings, etc., including a vignette etching on the title page and frontispiece, with tissue-guards. 8¼x6, publisher's pictorial gilt-stamped red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, top edge gilt. "Cheap Reissue" Edition.

Condition:

Spine leaning a bit, ends and corners bumped, joints and extremities lightly rubbed; hinges starting to crack, old quote clipping paper-clipped to frontispiece (leaving slight mark), bookplate of Rene Harth Thompson; still very good.
