Stewart's purpose in publishing this book was to bring golf literature to the attention of the public, since although Clark's magnificent book had appeared years before, it had been in a limited edition and generally unavailable to the public. Among other literature, this contains an interesting reprint of Farnie's The Golfer's Manual - Murdoch 743; Donovan & Murdoch 4380.
