333 pp. Illustrated with several plates from photographs, including frontispiece portrait of the author. 8vo. Green cloth, spine lettered in gilt, limited edition facsimile jacket. First Edition.

The first volume of Darwin's autobiographical trilogy. True first edition book with a modern facsimile jacket, which was issued by Classic Golf Covers of Great Britain, hand-numbered 148 of an undesignated limitation, on the rear flap. Donovan & Murdoch 14090; Murdoch 184.

Condition:

Vertical crease to slightly faded spine, head with a ¼" split, ends and corners a bit bumped, light rubbing; mild toning and occasional faint foxing; else very good or better with a fine facsimile jacket.
