Inscribed and signed by Science Fiction author Ray Bradbury on the front free endpaper: "For Wendy: Thanks! From Ray Bradbury, Sept. 11, 1953." Also, includes a laid-in typed letter signed by Ray [Bradbury], ink dated Nov. 22, 1953 and inked "Bradbury" on the top in the same ink as signed at the end as "Ray." The letter is on the Royal Hibernian Hotel of Dublin letterhead, addressed to the same "Wendy" and discusses Gerard Manley Hopkins, critiquing his poetry, etc., writing "I'll be damned if I know what to say except that he grows on you like green moss on a tree during all the summer days. By autumn you wind up in velvet and you didn't even feel the accumulation...I appreciated your honest dismay and admittance of semi-defeat in the face of his fireworks. That's okay. You may never like him. Hell. You can always go back to reading Bradbury...Love to all of you! from (signed) Ray."
