Specially bound in full red morocco, stamped in silver with multi-colored star designs on the front cover, special holographic portrait design of a man and an ape looking upwards created by Argon laser from a metal sculpture by artist Richard Ulrich inside a silver-metal frame (etched with Ulrich's signature) inlaid on the lower front cover, original milar cover. Copy letter "W" of 26 hand-lettered copies. First Edition.

Signed by Brin in the colophon. Author's sequel to Startide Rising and winner of the 1988 Hugo Award for best novel.
