48, [7] pp. With 34 hand-colored maps including smaller maps (7 are double-page with 1 folding); 9 lithographic views; and a wood-engraved vignette on title page. (Folio) 16¼x14¼, original blue-green cloth backed in sheep, front cover lettered in gilt.

The complete and scarce Atlas on Carroll County, Maryland. Maps detail the streets and railroad lines, and show the residences, businesses, churches, schools, parks, cemeteries, creeks, etc. Double-page maps include: Westminster County and City; Franklin; Freedom; Railroad map of Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia; Baltimore; along with only the right half of United States double-page map present. LeGear II L5865.

Condition:

Binding well worn and shaken, leather chipped plus other abrasions; lacks front free endpaper, splitting to folding map, other tears and edge wear throughout, occasional dark spots, inked and penciled names and notes on the end-leaves; maps still very good with bright images.
