Condition: Rebacked with original spine laid down (but loss at head affecting a few letters), hinges reinforced, some light soiling, endpapers lightly spotted; tissue repairs to front free endpaper margin, margins of plate at p. 184, and tears in three other plates; plate at p. 92 with closed tear into image; plate at p. 228 bound close; scattered minor toning and creasing. * The Marvelous Land of Oz. 287 pp. Illustrated with 15 (of 16) color plates & numerous black & white drawings by John R. First editions of all fourteen Oz books written by L. Frank Baum. Represents the publishing history of one of the most important children’s books series ever composed.
