[5]-[299] pp. With 12 color plates and other illustrations by John R. Neill. 9x6¾, blue-green cloth, pictorial cover label, black & white pictorial endpapers. First Edition, First State.

First state with half-title following ownership leaf and portrait of Princess Dorothy on p. [299]; plates coated on printed side only. Hanff & Greene XVI, Plate 71.

Condition:

Light dampstain to back cover and fore-edge, mild wear to extremities, pictorial label a bit rubbed with a few stains, hinges cracked; plate at p. 120 with some minor offsetting from facing illustration. Ownership leaf filled out in blue pencil. Still, very good and internally clean.
