Collection of 105 black and white photographs of Asia and the South Pacific with printed paper captions. Most of the photographs measuring approx. 3¼"x4¾", housed inside a decoratively embossed 7"x11" cloth album.

A unique collection collected by Capt. C. A. Berndtson with his portrait in Navy uniform on the first page. Starts with a photograph "Leaving San Francisco, the beginning our cruise." Scenes of Japan include: a street scene in Yokohama; the Daibutsu (large Buddha) at Kamakura; Torii to Futaara-San Temple in Nikko; sacred deer at Nara Park; plus scenes of various other temples, theatres, Tokyo, and geisha dancers. Scenes of China include: Chinese sailors at Chinwangtao, Manchuria; Temple of Confucius; Coolie restaurant in Peiping; laughing Buddha in the Llama temple; Shanghai River; Hongkong scenes; plus various temples, the people in city and rural life, boating scenes, etc. Philippine scenes include: Manila's Bilibid Prison during retreat; native houses; filipinas in native dresses; and a water buffalo pulling a cart in Manila. Other Southeast Asian scenes include: a Saigon woman chewing on a beatle nut; Chinese Quarters river scene in Saigon; Paknam, Siam; demon guards at the Wat Benjamabopitr Temple, Bangkok; two Siamese dancing girls in full attire and another large group photo; sacred monkey in Throne Palace Grounds, Bangkok; Bangkok Golden Buddha; Bangkok pagodas; a sacred white elephant in Siam; King of Siam's throne in Bangkok; a Chinese funeral in Singapore; a Mosque along Johore Straits; Singapore river scenes; a series of photos of a staged production of "King Neptune" aboard a ship in Singapore; scenes on the island of Java; a nude Javanese woman; The Lord Mayor of Perth at their arrival in Fremantle, Australia; Melbourne street scene and at King's Park; a kangaroo & a laughing jackass bird ; Circular Quay & Bondi Beach, Sydney; scenes in Rotorua, New Zealand; Suva & Pago Pago scenes in the Samoan Islands. Hawaiian scenes include: Hilo's shore; Honolulu; Surfboard Riding at Waikiki; Hanalei Bay on Kauai; Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Waikiki Beach. And finally, photos coming back home to San Francisco.
