48 pp. Illustrated by George Cruikshank with two etched plates and a woodcut vignette. 7½x4½, period red morocco, spine gilt in compartments, covers gilt-ruled, gilt turn-ins, top edge gilt, original pictorial front wrapper bound in. First Edition.

Author's copy, with his armorial bookplate. This work was anonymously authored by R.H.D. Barham under the pseudonym "Scriblerus Oxoniensis", but in this copy he is identified as the author on the title, and the vignette is captioned. Two related obituaries and another armorial bookplate are pasted to the front free endpapers.

Condition:

Hinges cracked, minor darkening and rubbing to extremities; plates browned.
