432 pp. 7¾x4¾, orginal brown cloth stamped in blind, spine lettered in gilt. First American Edition, Second Printing.

Second American printing of Darwin's ground-breaking, and earth-shaking, work on the creation of species. The imprint, date and text are the same as the first printing, but there are three quotations on the page facing the title. Freeman 378.

Condition:

Spine faded with some rubbing and a few minor stains, corners and little rubbed; light to moderate foxing within,as usual, very good or better condition, a nice, tight copy.
