Check drawn on the Cashier of the Manhattan Company, completed and signed by Burr, one page, oblong 8vo, payable to “Th. B.” for $25.00. Th. B. was Burr’s beloved daughter Theodosia. It was in the same year as this check that Burr tied Jefferson in the race for the presidency.

Aaron Burr. 1756-1836. Vice-President of the U.S. American Revolutionary officer and political leader. In the election of 1800, Burr tied with Thomas Jefferson for the presidency. He disclaimed competition for the office and Jefferson was elected. Burr mortally wounded Alexander Hamilton in a duel, July 11, 1804.
