Profusely illustrated with 248 (of 249) plates (8 in color) from paintings, drawings, sculpture art, etc., by Maynard Dixon, William Keith, George Bellows, James McNeill Whistler, John Singer Sargent, Childe Hassam, Joseph Pennell, and others. 11¼x8, linen-backed brown paper covered boards, paper spine label. First Edition. Probably the most sought-after by-product of the 1915 San Francisco Panama-Pacific International Exposition. Four of the plates are signed in ink by the artist, including: plate No. 13 signed by Clark Hobart (dated March 7, 1918); plate No. 16 signed by Ferdinand Burgdorff (dated 1908); plate No. 37 by Gottardo F. P. Piazzoni; plate No. 63 by Carl Oscar Borg.

Condition:
Discoloration spots to spine, rubbing to extremities, head of spine frayed, rub marks on covers; lacks plate No. 72, plate No. 248 with large piece torn off, occasional faint foxing, else very good.
