First Edition. Includes stories by J. M. Barrie, Thomas Hardy, Hilaire Belloc, G. K. Chesterton, Walter de la Mare, Hugh Lofting, A. A. Milne, and others. Also, with the scarce jacket, which has a bright cover and spine color illustration.

Condition:
Heavy chipping to upper portion of jacket with an approx. 2"x7" portion lacking near center, large tears and some creases to all edges, rear joint starting to split, soiling and faint foxing; volume corners a bit bumped; inked gift inscription on front free endpaper, bookplate with a Winifred Bromhall illustration and previous owner's rubberstamp on front pastedown; still a near fine copy with a fairly good jacket.
