Description:
8 vols. incl. Supplement. With 33 chromolithographed plates; numerous wood engravings in the text. 10x7½, original green cloth lettered in gilt & black, illustrated in black, all edges gilt. Thorough botanical dictionary with bright chromolithographed plates. Thirty-two of the plates are of flowers, and one is "A Chart of Correct Colors of Flowers."

Condition:
Some extremity wear, dampstains to a few covers, spine strip of Vol. V torn and chipped; occasional foxing and darkening within, generally not affecting plates, shaken with some hinges cracked and a few plates and pages loose, light dampstaining in Vols. VII & VIII with dark ink stains to fore-edges of latter pages (not intruding to text or plates), pencil names and inscriptions to front enpapers, generally very good.
