Description:
22 lines, in ink, on both sides of 4x5" plain correspondence card, signed Rene Magritte. The Belgian Surrealist artist writes to his friend Andre Bosmans, in French, partially translated: "I still cannot give you an exact date for the outing in the Ardennes. The painters have overrun our house and we must wait for them to finish before we can leave. As soon as it is possible, I will call you and we and then decide on the day to meet in Liege. Gui Rosey [a fellow Surrealist] wrote me that he had not heard from you..." Bosmans' wrote the introduction to Lucien De Meyer's monograph on Magritte. Magritte died the year after writing this card, at age 69.
