528 pp. With steel-engraved frontispiece of Yosemite Valley; 3 double-page maps with light hand coloring; 24 wood-engraved plates. 9½x6¼, original brown pictorial cloth lettered in gilt. First Edition. Scarce work with much on Yellowstone National Park. The contributors include Ferdinand V. Hayden, Charles Raymond, W.B. Vickers, Lew Wallace (author of "Ben Hur"), Robert Strahorn, John C. Fremont, and others.

Some darkening to the covers, extremities worn, front joing starting to split; hinges cracked at endpapers, occasional instances of yellow highlighting to the text, small hole in pp. 213-14; overall very good.
