Illustrated with numerous plates from photographs, drawings, maps and other sources, some drawings in color and includes many folding plates; both copies of Vol. 6 with two folding color maps in rear pocket. 11¼x7½, olive cloth, gilt vignettes to spine and front covers, spine lettered in gilt. First Editions. Compilations of important source material on many American Indians tribes gathered by the leading anthropologists of the period.

Lot Amendments

Condition:
All but 1 are ex-library copies with white lettering on spine and the other usual markings, light soiling and shelf wear, some rubbing, bindings somewhat shaken; couple with previous owner's signature; Vol. 19 worn with half of front free endpaper clipped; couple groups of color plates in Vol. 26 detached, contents still clean with mild aging, else very good or better.
