xv, [1], 726 pp. With plates from photographs, plus numerous portrait plates, many photo-engraved. 11½x8½, original full brown morocco stamped in gilt, floral endpapers, gilt inner dentelles, a.e.g. First Edition.

Significant history of Idaho, with portraits and biographies of its leading citizens. With full page inscription from Fred R. Reed to Hon. John Hailey, an Idaho pioneer and statesman who first entered the state in 1862, on the back of the frontispiece, dated Boise, Idaho, Dec. 25, 1899; this has bled a bit, so is visible from the front of the frontispiece. The title stamped in gilt on the front cover reads "Idaho: The Gem of the Mountains."

Condition:

Covers rubbed mostly at edges and joints, lower ½" of spine strip lacking; hinge cracked before the frontispiece, 1 contents-leaf partially detached, another torn, else very good.
