26 ivory disks, each with a capital letter painted in black on one side and a small letter on the other. Each 1" in diameter, set in original 1-7/8" high turned cylindrical ivory case with screw-on lid which is painted in colors. Set in custom-made folding morocco case lettered in gilt, with ribbed spine to look like a book.

Charming little set of children's alphabet counters, designed for the young ones to play with and learn their ABC's. Complete sets, in the original ivory cases, are quite uncommon, pieces often being lost. The handsome morocco case with the name of Kathryn M. Brown in gilt; she was the wife of Joe E. Brown, and a noted collector.
