Ebenezer Henderson (1784-1858), and missionary and accomplished linguist, made this tour of Iceland to distribute copies of a Bible in Icelandic, the translation of which he had supervised in Copenhagen in 1812-13. His Journal includes much valuable information regarding Icelandic manners and customs, history, literature, and antiquities. With the bookplate of John Sinkankas.

Condition:

Foxing to the plates and occasionally the text, else very good in fine modern bindings.
