[66] pp. + [2] pp. notarized leaf at end. With a full page hand-painted coat of arms. 29x21 cm (11½x8½"), limp vellum. Hand lettered on front cover, "Armas de Aguilar."

A detailed history of the noble family Aguilar from the province of Castile, Spain, that culminates in a legal document declaring Don Manuel de Aguilar truly a son of the house Aguilar (even though he is illegitimate or "natural-born") that can proudly bear the last name Aguilar (as opposed to Hijo del algo or "Hidalgo" which means Child of Someone). Declares he has all the rights and titles to which the family Aguilar bears. Family tree begins with Salazar de Mondoza, born 1625. Manuscript written in cursive, with illustrated title page that reads the name of the underwriter: Juan Antonio de Hozes Sarmiento. And, "Chronista de Castilla, y Rey de Armas." Above the lettering is a gilt, red, yellow, and blue crown and decorative device. It is signed by at least eight people at the end with an official seal. There is a rubber stamp which appears on the last leaf which reads “Sello Quarto Maravedis, Ano Demil Setecientos y Veinte y Cinco."
