Approximately 430 original photographs, mounted to leaves within a half leather and cloth photograph album, lettered in gilt with the owner's name and date 1912. Hundreds of photographs, most are from Japan and Hong Kong (most Hong Kong photographs are captioned in white in the photo). But also other locales in Asia and South East Asia. Several taken aboard ships. Plus a few photographs of the Tennis Match, Nesbit V. Green, May 31, 1915. Includes several photographs of the Derby Day catastrophe, Hong Kong, 1918, including a few that are 15x20.5 cm (6x8"). Plus, a lovely group of large group portraits from several different weddings, most measure 22.5x28.5 cm (8¾x11¼"). And a few group photographs of that size from the Fancy Dress Masque Ball on Washington's Birthday, 1919 at the Oriental Hotel, Kobe [Japan].

Inscribed on verso of front free endpaper: "To Winnie with best wishes from Joe. Hong Kong 26th August 1912." A lovely archive of photographs collected by Winifred "Winnie" Edwards, a young Caucasian woman living and traveling throughout Asia. Includes several photos of the family playing tennis in various countries, plus a curious collection of oversized group portraits of weddings from several different weddings.
