Letter to the granddaughter of Samuel Clemens' good friend and neighbor Henry Huttleson Rogers, who was Twain's financial adviser and agent, helping him reorganize Twain's tangled finances beginning in 1893. At one juncture, Rogers hosted Twain for an extended period while Twain's own house was being renovated. Twain writes "Dear Beatrice, Yes, I should like very much to have the views of the house.  I think the pictures of your grandfather & me are excellent. Mr. Rogers looks just like himself - just as he always looks when he is arranging in his mind to raise my board. I've got the bronchitis & and leading a very exemplary life. I can't swear or carry on because it hurts my breast. Bronchitis would help your grandfather, don't you think? I am sending my love, I am affectionately your ancient & aged friend, S.L. Clemens." On Quarry Farms, Elmira, NY stationery. Quarry Farms was owned by Henry Rogers, and was where Twain stayed while his house was being finished in 1903.
