With 'M' in date imprint directly below the D in Dodsley, flower on page iv facing right, no press figure on p. 354; Leaves B8, E2, F6, H2 and H3 are uncancelled. Burke's most celebrated work, and one of the greatest polemics in the English language. "The effect of the `Reflections' was extraordinary. It created a reaction against the revolution; it divided Englishmen into two parties and did much to ruin the Whigs, and to produce a new political combination. Abroad [it] created no less stir than at home, and Burke received the compliments of different foreign sovereigns.
