Holograph folio letter copybook containing more than numbered pages of letters sent from the U.S. Army Quartermaster Major from the field in the Western region of the United States to various destinations including U.S. Army Headquarters in Washington and various military installations, offices and forts throughout the West from Chicago to Texas, from  April 18, 1881 to September 24, 1881. The first letter begins on page number 35, there do appear to have been a few leaves revoved prior to this leaf. The letters are in a formal flowing hand, but a bit difficult to read, however worthy of some time and study which would provide an excellent look at the day to day operations and the needs of the military on the frontier fighting against the Apaches of the Southwest. The letters are on fine quality rag content lightweight copy paper, and are bound securely within boards, in a quarter leather sturdy letter book.
