Rare 1987 Kertesz Hungarian Photo Calendar

Kertez, André

André Kertész.  1987 Hungarian Photographic  Calendar (Fofoto, Budapest, 1987) Text in Hungarian, with some English translations. Each month’s page has the reproduction of a Kertesz photo, with an additional photo on the preliminary “Happy New Year” page. 18 ¾” x 12 ½”, spiral-bound, with cover envelope.

The 13 reproduced photos, taken from the originals at the Kertesz Memorial House in Szigetbecse, span much of Kertesz’s career, from 1916 to 1984, the year before his death, most dated prior to World War II. The same Budapest publishing house produced Kertesz” 1984 autobiography, but this later calendar is more rare than even the signed copies of that book; WorldCat shows no copy of the Calendar held by any American institution.
