Nineteenth century edition of Cominius' Orbis Sensualium Picturs, first published in the 17th century, with descriptions and pictures of the various facets of life, including some natural history but concentrating on the endeavors of mankind, with much on trades and occupations, manufactures, artistic expression, sports, etc. Includes a section on the slave trade, plus viticulture, bull-fighting, carpentry, butchery, tobacco cultivation, fencing, arts of war, papermaking, printing, lithography, and much more. Some of the pictures have hand-coloring, most likely by a former owner; ownership inscriptions on the pastedowns.

Covers rubbed and worn, about half of the spine strip lacking; else very good overall, just occasional light foxing within.
