Foreword by Grantland Rice. Green cloth, pictorial cover label; housed in custom made clamshell box, black quarter morocco and maroon cloth, spine tooled in gilt, raised bands. First Edition.

 

Signed by James "Jim" Barnes in 1925, on front free endpaper. This is a book of instruction focusing primarily on the golf swing. Barnes held the first USPGA title (1916) and went on to triumph in the 1921 US Open and the 1925 British Open. Scarce in the dust jacket. D&J B5920.

Condition:
Light overall wear, a bit of soiling, spine ends and corners frayed; faint dampstains to preliminary pages, a few cases of finger soiling, darkening, rear hinge cracked; very good in fine box.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
