3 pp. autograph letter signed. 10¼x8" on Vardon’s printed and pictorial business letterhead (Golf Club and Ball Maker, South Kerts Golf Club, Totteeridge, London). Signed at the end "Yrs Sincerely Harry Vardon."

Warm letter from Harry Vardon to his nephew Leonard, mentioning he can stay with him anytime, saying that "The Mrs. will expect Mabel (Leonard's wife) to help with the house work..." The letterhead shows pictorial images of all 7 of Vardon’s championship medals, top with “Memo. From H. Vardon” and other printed information in red and black ink. Harry Vardon (1870–1937) was a six time British Open champion (during 1896-1914 - a record that still holds today) and won the 1900 U.S. Open. Overall Vardon won 62 golf tournaments (finished runner-up on several other occasions). He popularized the grip that bears his name, one still used by over 90% of golfers today. Later on, Vardon became a golf course architect designing several courses in Britain.
